How We Inspect Your Building
Not every building is the same. Height, access, surface type and inspection purpose all determine the right approach. Avello Group uses three complementary inspection methods — often in combination — to ensure every element of your building is assessed accurately and safely.
Rope Access Inspection
For high-rise and hard-to-reach facades, rope access is the most thorough inspection method available. Our IRATA certified rope access technicians descend the full height of your building, conducting close-up assessment of every surface — identifying cracking, delamination, moisture ingress, coating failure, caulking breakdown, corroded iron, moss and algae growth, and facade defects that simply cannot be seen from ground level or by drone alone.
Benefits: Physical, hands-on access to every elevation · Identifies subsurface defects and coating adhesion issues · Can collect samples, tap test and probe surfaces · No scaffolding — minimal disruption and cost · IRATA certified for safety compliance
Best for: Multi-storey buildings, high-rise facades, detailed defect mapping, pre-repaint assessments
Drone Inspection
For large roof areas, difficult angles, and initial condition surveys, drone inspection provides rapid, high-resolution aerial coverage of surfaces that are costly or time-consuming to access physically. Our drone inspections capture detailed photographic and video evidence of rooflines, plant areas, roof membranes, parapets and upper-level facades.
Benefits: Rapid coverage of large or complex roof areas · High-resolution imagery for detailed defect identification · Safe assessment of areas with no safe physical access · Cost-effective for initial condition surveys · Photographic record for reports and future comparison
Best for: Roof condition assessments, large industrial sites, initial surveys, ongoing monitoring
3D Building Modelling
For complex or high-value assets requiring comprehensive long-term management, 3D building modelling provides an accurate digital representation of your building that can be marked up with identified defects, graded by severity and updated over time as maintenance is completed.
Using platforms like DroneDeploy, we create a virtual 3D model of your building that allows defects to be precisely located, documented and tracked — giving facilities managers, strata committees and boards a powerful tool for planning, reporting and demonstrating compliance.
Benefits: Complete digital record of building condition · Defects mapped precisely on 3D model · Accessible via online portal · 3–5 year maintenance strategy built from model data · Evidence of compliance documented over time · Reduces risk of maintenance overspend
Best for: National facilities portfolios, large strata complexes, government and healthcare assets, long-term PPM planning
