Project Overview

Avello Group was awarded a multi-year contract by a major metro Melbourne Council to deliver a structured timber rejuvenation and maintenance program across a portfolio of public facilities, including childcare centres and tennis clubs.

The objective of the program is to extend the service life of existing decking and external timber elements while improving safety, appearance, and long-term durability across high-use community assets.

All works are carefully scheduled around school holiday periods to ensure minimal disruption to centre operations and public access.

Scope of Works

The program includes the rejuvenation and protection of timber assets across multiple sites, including:

• External decking at childcare centres and sports facilities
• Timber seating, balustrades and architectural features
• High-wear pedestrian zones
• Outdoor recreational areas

Methodology & Coating System

Avello developed a consistent, repeatable process across all sites to ensure quality and longevity:

• Thorough pressure cleaning and surface preparation
• Sanding and timber defect rectification where required
• Application of Intergrain Ultradeck Exterior Timber Stain, selected for its durability, slip resistance and UV protection
• Final inspections and site QA sign-off

Intergrain Ultradeck was specified to ensure excellent resistance to foot traffic, weather exposure and ongoing wear in high-use public environments.
