MiTek Industrial Facility Painting

Project Overview

As an active industrial facility, MiTek needed targeted works across several areas of its site rather than a single full-building repaint. Avello scoped and priced each area — the main building's rear wall, Warehouse C's lower band walls and doors, the awning's corrugated cladding and roller door frames, and 21 internal column panels in Warehouse A — as a defined package of works, coordinated with other repair trades working on column guards and corrugated panels in parallel.

Scope of Works

Back of Main Building

• Lower band wall: pressure washed and finished with 2 coats of paint
• 2 x doors (both sides): etch primed as required, undercoated and finished with 2 coats

Back of Warehouse C

• 2 x lower band walls: pressure washed, primed and finished with 2 coats of paint
• 3 x doors (both sides): etch primed as required, undercoated and finished with 2 coats

Back of Awning

• Lower section of corrugated panel: soft washed and finished with 2 coats of paint
• 4 x roller door metal/concrete frames: sanded, primed and finished with 2 coats (via 32ft scissor lift)

Warehouse A Internal

• 21 x column panels: pressure washed, primed and finished with 2 coats of paint

Method

All surfaces were pressure or soft washed prior to painting to ensure proper adhesion, with etch priming and undercoating applied to doors and metal frames as required. Elevated works to the awning's roller door frames were completed via 32ft scissor lift, and internal column works were coordinated around concurrent repair works being carried out by others on column guards and corrugated panels in 10 identified areas.

Outcome

• Main building, Warehouse C and awning exteriors refreshed and protected against ongoing weathering
• Doors and roller door frames properly primed and coated for long-term durability in an active industrial setting
• 21 internal column panels repainted, improving presentation and protection within Warehouse A
• Works coordinated efficiently alongside other trades' repair activities with minimal disruption to site operation
