Project Overview

Avello Group has been engaged by Alfred Health to carry out staged interior repainting works to 3 Levels at Alfred Health in Moorabbin. The project introduces a refreshed, modernised colour palette across the facility, moving away from creamy undertones and bright colours in favour of cleaner, more grounding tones suited to a youth-oriented mental health setting. Works are being delivered in stages to minimise disruption to this fully operational clinical environment.

Scope of Works

• Interior repainting to walls, doors and frames across 3 levels, delivered in defined colour-coded stages
• Minor wall patching, sugar soap washing and filling of gaps, cracks and imperfections prior to painting
• Application of a new base colour (Wattyl Moody White) to all internal walls, replacing the previous creamy undertone palette
• Feature wall and door treatments in a darker contrast tone (Wattyl Dark Dream) to selected corridors and alcoves as identified on the approved floor plan
• Careful sequencing of colour zones (e.g. doors-only vs. full wall treatment) in specific alcove areas per client direction
• Coordination with existing artwork and furnishings to retain visual focal points within the space

Products & Systems Used

Application in accordance with a Wattyl interior coating system, including two coats of Wattyl Interior to walls and two coats of Wattyl Interior Acrylic Enamel Semigloss to doors and frames—delivering a durable, clean-finish result suited to a high-use healthcare environment.

All works are backed by Avello's 5 Year Workmanship Warranty and a 10 Year Paint Product Manufacturer's Warranty.

Outcome

The project delivered:

• A lightened, modernised colour palette that replaces dated, creamy tones with cleaner, calming finishes
• A cohesive use of darker blue accents to ground the space and support a sense of stability, in line with best-practice youth mental health design
• Retained visual interest through artwork and colour pops, avoiding a sterile or overly clinical feel
• A staged delivery approach that minimises disruption to clinicians, staff and clients within a live facility
