Project Overview

Avello Group delivers a 5 Year Interior Maintenance Program for Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School, covering scheduled patching and repainting works across key interior areas including the Community Hub foyer and classroom, Learning Building ceilings, and boys' and girls' toilet ceilings. These areas typically show signs of wear associated with a busy school environment—including flaking paint, plaster damage and joint cracking—and the program is designed to identify and address this deterioration on a regular cycle before it becomes more extensive. As the school remains fully operational throughout, all works are planned and delivered during school holidays or other low-impact periods to minimise disruption to staff, students and daily school life.

Scope of Works

• Site set-up and safety planning ahead of works commencing
• Removal of blisters, runs and flaking paint across affected surfaces
• Filling of gaps, cracks and imperfections with premium filling products
• Plaster repairs to ceilings, including patching and joint filling
• Removal of wall plugs, with plaster repair and sanding to make good
• Reaffixing of skirting in the classroom
• Sanding of all flat surfaces, including sanding between coats as needed
• Repainting of walls and ceilings

Products & Systems Used

Interior surfaces were finished using the Wattyl—Low Sheen to walls and the Ceiling system to all ceiling areas—chosen for durability in a high-traffic school environment.  Given evidence of prior water damage and structural movement at the site, warranty cover excluded any future issues arising from further water ingress or ground movement, with remedial action recommended separately to address those underlying causes.

Outcome

The project delivered:

• A consistent, uniform finish maintained across the Community Hub foyer, classroom and Learning Building ceilings year on year
• Early identification and rectification of flaking paint, plaster damage and joint cracking before it worsens
• Toilet ceilings and other high-wear areas kept to a clean, consistent standard on an ongoing basis
